John O'Brien, viola

John O'Brien has performed throughout the southeast as a soloist and chamber musician. He performs regularly with Clarino Consort and Baroque dance soloist Paige Whitley-Bauguess. John studied harpsichord with Malcolm Hamilton, Elaine Funaro, and Arthur Hass and organ with Cherry Rhodes and Janette Fishell. Mr. O'Brien is co-director of he Early Music Ensemble at East Carolina University where he is Professor of Accompanying, co-director of the ECU Opera Theatre, and Chairperson of Vocal Studies.
